High Capacity Hydraulic Nuts

Hydraulic tensioning with hydraulic tensioners and nuts is the ideal method for tightening bolted connections. Hydraulic tensioning eliminates inaccuracies and helps achieve correct bolt loading in critical fasteners. At HTI, we’ve been building hydraulic tensioners and nuts since 1986. 

HTI provides high-capacity hydraulic nuts for applications where a standard nut might not be able to provide the full force necessary to achieve the proper bolt loading. Some stud materials may require this.   

A high-capacity hydraulic nut can be especially helpful for subsea use, where performing an additional operation can be cumbersome, or when using multiple nuts on the bolting of a large assembly, where multiple cycles would be time-consuming. 

HTI standard hydraulic nuts can produce a maximum force of 996,730 lbf / 4,434 kN; above that force would require a high-capacity hydraulic nut. 

High-capacity hydraulic nuts will have a wider diameter than standard nuts as the increased capacity is achieved by increasing the (internal) surface area onto which the hydraulic pressure is applied.
