What is a Tensioner Overstroke Indicator?
HTI tensioners come with an overstroke indicator and overstroke protection.
Overstroke protection means that you will be prevented from extending the stroke past the safe level.
The hydraulic tensioner overstroke indicator provides a visual indication when you have reached the stroke limit.
If the hydraulic gauge pressure is not yet at the level to provide the proper tension, then another tensioning cycle will be required. You accomplish this by tightening the nut on the stud, releasing the system pressure, screwing the reaction nut or load cell farther down on the stud, and re-tensioning.
